Ok so many of you may remember back on January 11th, just a typical Wednesday night at home my long-term boyfriend John popped the question! Of course I said and we hugged and cried (ok ok just I cried) and we took it from there! Well since then a lot has happened in terms of our wedding and with going to grad school as well as work it has been hard to update the blog so I figure I’ll forgo school work today during lunch and write! Sometimes it feels so good
We actually have got quite a bit done in a short amount of time, we’ve only been engaged for about 2 months and basically it is all done except for a few small things! We ended up finding the perfect place to get married, a golf course, and it’s great because golf truly brought us together and we both enjoy it so much! The venue and the date all worked out so well together and we’ll be getting married this year on August 24th and we couldn’t be more thrilled
.
After the first weekend it all seemed like a breeze (with a few hiccups in between)! Planning a wedding four hours from where you live is a challenge but 100% do-able! In the first few weeks we registered, bought Johns wedding band, got the tux’s picked out and booked our honeymoon! We sent out the save the dates and figured out the guest list (still being worked on). It is a lot of work but I am enjoying about 99.5% of it
.
Probably the biggest things that we did, or I did rather, is I said yes to the dress! Of course I can’t post a picture of it because it is one thing I am going to try my best to keep from John but it is stunning! The little details I can give are that is nothing that I have ever envisioned myself to wear before. I had always pictured a sweat-heart neckline with an empire or a-line waist and all lace. I did find that dress and was going between the two. In the end I went with my gut and heart and picked the one I did not even want to try on! (Thanks Mom for pushing me to try it on!). It was actually the 2nd dress I had ever tried and and basically fell in love
.
All in all a lot has been done and even more than what I can think of! We’ve menu tasted, cake tasted, picked the invitations and have to order them (on my to-do list today!) set up bridal showers and bacheloretee parties, we’ve hymed and hawed about a bunch of things but have done a good job so far and I can’t be more excited to see what the day turns out to be!
In a little over 5 months I’ll be marrying my best friend and will forever become known as Mrs. B! I’ll be sure to keep y’all updated throughout! I’ll try to get a post out this week sometime about our honeymoon and what we ended up deciding
.
Thanks all for sticking through me and better make sure that I am still working on my Glow!
