Weight Watchers

I realize that I have been the world’s worst blogger since the New Year and I do truly apologize. Between work, grad school and wedding planning my life has become a zoo. When I do have a night off I enjoy it with my fiance and our puppy and zone and just rel in the laziness that I am enjoying.

I do need to find a happy balance/median though and have realized that that is no reason why I can’t have the best of both worlds, blog and do the rest. So that is what I am going to try and do – blog 2x per week. Now I know what you are saying to yourself “Terran you say that all the time” well for once I am truly hoping that it’ll stay true!

I did want to update y’all a little. I recently started Weight Watchers in an attempt to move beyond the stalling weight of 200 that I had been hovering at/around for about 4 months. Well it has worked! I am almost down 5 lbs in two weeks. I hope to continue my moentum and hopefully start to visually see some progress, we’ll see.

I have the below motivation on my Pintrest page and look at it every couple of days to remind myself that changes are less noticeable to myself then they are others. Just the other day at work I got a compliment which meant the world to me! He’s to the next 4 weeks, and the rest of my life truly!

Boot Camp?

Good Evening!! I just wanted to share some fun news with y’all! I joined a boot camp that started today online and couldn’t be more proud of myself and nervous for the coming weeks! I have been reading Tina’s blog for a while now over at Best Body Fitness and she has put out an 8-week online boot camp. I was very excited for the opportunity to join and am highly looking forward to the challenge and to see how my body holds up for the next 2 months.

I can’t share the specifics of the work outs but I just completed Day 1 and phew! I am feeling it in my arms and legs already :-) . Throughout the boot camp I’ll be posting my updates and how I am feeling and progress I am seeing!

Beyond the boot camp my family and I have decided to start our own Biggest Loser! We all could use some weight loss and healthy advancements in our lives and not only because of my wedding a little more than 5 months down the road but also because, well, honestly we all just need it! So that will be another fun challenge and friendly competition that I am hoping the boot camp will help to boost so I can win! (Come on I’m the bride after all!)

Alright well after 2 workouts today, full day of working and grocery shopping for the week on top of homework I am exhausted and off to bed! Goal for the week: In bed by 10:30 each weeknight (and probably weekends too since we are that exciting here in Indiana). Have a great night everyone!

Wedding Blitz!

Ok so many of you may remember back on January 11th, just a typical Wednesday night at home my long-term boyfriend John popped the question! Of course I said and we hugged and cried (ok ok just I cried) and we took it from there! Well since then a lot has happened in terms of our wedding and with going to grad school as well as work it has been hard to update the blog so I figure I’ll forgo school work today during lunch and write! Sometimes it feels so good :-)

We actually have got quite a bit done in a short amount of time, we’ve only been engaged for about 2 months and basically it is all done except for a few small things! We ended up finding the perfect place to get married, a golf course, and it’s great because golf truly brought us together and we both enjoy it so much! The venue and the date all worked out so well together and we’ll be getting married this year on August 24th and we couldn’t be more thrilled :-) .

After the first weekend it all seemed like a breeze (with a few hiccups in between)! Planning a wedding four hours from where you live is a challenge but 100% do-able! In the first few weeks we registered, bought Johns wedding band, got the tux’s picked out and booked our honeymoon! We sent out the save the dates and figured out the guest list (still being worked on). It is a lot of work but I am enjoying about 99.5% of it :-) .

Probably the biggest things that we did, or I did rather, is I said yes to the dress! Of course I can’t post a picture of it because it is one thing I am going to try my best to keep from John but it is stunning! The little details I can give are that is nothing that I have ever envisioned myself to wear before. I had always pictured a sweat-heart neckline with an empire or a-line waist and all lace. I did find that dress and was going between the two. In the end I went with my gut and heart and picked the one I did not even want to try on! (Thanks Mom for pushing me to try it on!). It was actually the 2nd dress I had ever tried and and basically fell in love :-) .

All in all a lot has been done and even more than what I can think of! We’ve menu tasted, cake tasted, picked the invitations and have to order them (on my to-do list today!) set up bridal showers and bacheloretee parties, we’ve hymed and hawed about a bunch of things but have done a good job so far and I can’t be more excited to see what the day turns out to be!

In a little over 5 months I’ll be marrying my best friend and will forever become known as Mrs. B! I’ll be sure to keep y’all updated throughout! I’ll try to get a post out this week sometime about our honeymoon and what we ended up deciding :-) .

Thanks all for sticking through me and better make sure that I am still working on my Glow!

Appologies

I have been a sorely bad blogger this past month. There are a few reasons but mainly because I have gotten lazy and for that I am sorry. Trying to tackle as much as I have been over the past month has been overwhelming and exhausting at times as well. I am starting to get a hold of this grad school work (just as I finish my first class) and also the wedding planning.

I’ll try and get a nice fun big update this weekend when I have my lull and for the first time in over 2 months have NOTHING planned on the weekend and am in love with that idea.

For the most part I am still holding steady right around that 200 lb mark but hope to break the barrier in the coming days/weeks as I start a new exercise adventure known as the Jillian Michaels 30-Day Shred. I completed Day 1 on Wednesday and have high hopes to complete Day 2 today (Friday) if my muscles allow for it. As it is with anyone who has exercised and then stopped for an extended period of time getting back into the game means pain for the first few days – full week. Currently I look like a penguin waddling around and 100% OK with it :-) .

So please check back I think I am going to work on 2 posts for the week rather than once/twice a day because that evidently has not worked :-) .

Am I Insane?

These days I am thinking I must be – and it isn’t for one reason alone there are multiple reasons!

Let’s start out with the most insane thing. John and I are going to start up Insanity this coming Sunday. I-N-S-A-N-I-T-Y folks, I have to be crazy! If you have never heard of it check it out here.  I have a few friends who have had success with the program and I am hoping it will help kick-start our pre-wedding weight loss that he and I both want to accomplish.

Next, there’s graduate school – never thought I’d hear myself say that. But it is true. I am starting grad school on Monday and couldn’t be more excited, nervous, scared, petrified or ready to start the process. One of the scariest things is that it is on-line, hopefully I can overcome and be successful.

Lastly there is the big day. Thankfully I have a pretty good handle as to what is going on all of the big things are booked and the little tedious things are being worked through. I am so thankful to have an awesome mom and fiance who are helping. Planning a wedding when living 4 hours away is not as bad as I thought, or so right now it isn’t.

On top of all of this there is still working full-time. I try not to complain and look at the bright side of things. My parents always made note of how my grades were better in school when I had multiple things going on. So who knows, maybe having all of these things going at one time won’t be a bad thing, maybe it will the the combination I have been looking for to help me be successful? I sure hope so!

Here’s to living an insane (and amazing) life! Hope everyone has a great day!

Apples or Trees?

Apples or Trees? Ok ok so more or less Apple Mountain or the Doubletree. That was my issue this weekend. You may have seen that I got engaged last week (still can’t believe it!) and because of that I wanted to start the planning ASAP! Like seriously folks we got engaged on Wednesday and I started calling and booked a few appointments on Thursday for us to look at venues on Saturday.  I have never wanted a long engagement so getting the ball rolling was something that was for sure not a surprise to my family nor my fiance.

As I’m sure with any little girl I have always had this vision in my head of where/when/what my wedding would be like. Thankfully I have a very flexible fiance who is pretty much open to anything that’ll please me that day :-) . I am also very thankful that my mother has been preparing for this day for years and was already set with questions, ideas and anything else you could imagine!

We thankfully decided upon a venue and date – August 24th I will be a married women! WOOO HOOOO!!! Even though this blog has and will continue to focus on my journey to lose weight I know have even more new-found motivation to shed this pounds and be that sexy bride I’ve always envisioned myself to be.

I will still be blogging about my journey as well as throwing in some fun wedding updates! I do have to say the new found “fit into a wedding dress” motivation has helped me to lose the last 2lbs I had been trying to tackle from the holidays so I am officially back to it and am ready to start eating healthy and start feeling sexy!

If you want to follow along with the wedding progress I’m creating a new page and can’t wait for the next 7 months for all of the planning to take place!

OH and for those who wondered – we chose Apples over Trees!

Have a great night y’all!

Here Comes the Bride

Yes my friends you read that right! I am officially engaged! I have been dating John for almost 6 years now and last night he decided to pop the question (still screaming in side with joy).

It is 100% perfect and I love it so much! I can’t wait to start the planning (already working on it) and finally getting to spend the rest of my life with my best friend :-) . We are both so excited :-) .

Here’s to the planning!
